A Child’s Dream to Participate in Second Annual Colorado Gives Day

Loveland, CO (December 1, 2011) – A Child’s Dream announces its support of the second annual Colorado Gives Day – an initiative to increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving to Colorado charities. Once again presented by Community First Foundation and FirstBank, Colorado Gives Day is a 24-hour period to “give where you live” by making online donations to the hundreds of charities featured on Community First Foundation’s online giving resource, GivingFirst.org. As a profiled charity on GivingFirst.org, A Child’s Dream will benefit from this initiative.

“We are excited to participate in the second annual Colorado Gives Day for our second year. As a Colorado nonprofit, we recognize the value of bringing local communities together in support of the charitable sector – and Colorado Gives Day is an ideal outlet for raising awareness of the need to support organizations like ours,” remarked Katie Reiff, Executive Director of A Child’s Dream.

“We are very proud of our local nonprofits—they add to the vibrancy and diversity of our communities—and we are honored to support them by providing an opportunity to raise more funds for their worthy causes on Colorado Gives Day,” said Marla J. Williams, president and CEO of Community First Foundation. “‘Give where you live’ is a simple concept but one with huge impact. Our goal last year was to raise $1 million online for local nonprofits. Instead, thanks to Coloradans’ generosity, we raised more than $8 million!”

A Child’s Dream was founded to grant dreams to children and youth who are terminally or chronically ill, injured or low income in Larimer County.  We recognize there are many children, due to physical limitations or financial struggles, who are never exposed to opportunities to help them see the hope and possibility that exists in the world and our community.  By granting dreams to children and youth, A Child’s Dream provides them with opportunities they may not otherwise receive.  Our mission is to make children’s dreams come true.
